A 'leash free' area within a park is a place where dogs can socialize and run off-leash in a safe, secure environment. Dog parks are becoming an increasingly popular attraction for people and dogs to relax, exercise and socialize. Even though Toronto is a very dog friendly city, large secure dog parks are still far and few between. As a solution to this problem, Petopia is pleased to announce that every 2nd and 4th Sunday each month from 11am to 3pm (unless there is an event or function); we will open our Petopia Dog Park for pet parents and dog lovers to enjoy. The cost to play at our Petopia Dog Park is $5. The Petopia Dog Park is available every Sunday from 11am to 3pm for Deluxe or Premium Club Paws Members (to learn more about our Club Paws memberships, click here.

Rules of the Petopia Dog Park:
  1. Upon your first visit to the dog park, please have a copy of your dog’s vaccination records or valid titers so we may keep them on file. Shots must include Rabies, DHPP and Bordatella. We recommend that all dogs be on some sort of flea treatment and on Heartworm meds as well.
  2. Aggressive dogs are not permitted on the premises. Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression.
  3. Please do not bring your dog if it is exhibiting any of the following behaviors:

    • Coughing
    • Excessive sneezing
    • Runny nose or runny eyes
    • Vomiting
    • Diarrhea
    • Unusually lethargic behavior

If a staff member notices any of these symptoms, the dog may be asked to leave immediately.
  4. Guardians are asked to closely supervise their dog, and under no circumstances should an owner leave their dog unattended.
  5. All children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Children should at no time be allowed to run with or chase after dogs in the dog run.
  6. It is your responsibility to clean up after your dog – Petopia provides ample poopie bags and there are many garbage cans throughout the park.
  7. For safety reasons, please remove pinch (prong) and spike collars from your dog prior to entering the dog run. Many dogs and puppies have been injured by playing with another dog who was wearing a pinch collar. A basic flat buckle collar (with city licenses, Rabies and identification tags) is recommended.
  8. All dogs must enter and exit the facility on a leash.
  9. Female dogs in heat are prohibited.
  10. Food and drinks (in glass containers) are prohibited; training treats are allowed.
  11. No one perceived to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal substance will be allowed in the park.
  12. Individuals who are disruptive to other park patrons will be asked to leave.
  13. Guardians of a dog are responsible for the acts and conduct of their pet at all times when it is at Petopia’s dog park. Dog park users and dog guardians assume all risks related to use of the dog parks..
  14. Each guardian is limited to a maximum of three dogs.
  15. Each guardian must sign in at Petopia’s main entrance. For the safety of the dogs, no one is permitted to enter the park from the back entrance.

  1. For safety reasons, we can only permit 25 dogs in the park at a time.  We will allow more dogs into the park as space becomes available.
  2. Quickly move away from the entrance area as you enter. That will help disperse the group of dogs that will come over to welcome your dog to the park. Move away from the fence so that your dog will not feel cornered or threatened. This will lessen the problem caused when several off leash dogs, already in the park, come running over to greet the new arrival, perhaps overwhelming the arriving dog.
  3. Be aware at all times as there will likely be groups of dogs running around the park having fun. People standing around are obstructions. A dog being chased may try to run its pursuer into a person in order to gain an advantage. Stay alert!
  4. Dogs should be under voice control and are not allowed to disturb or chase people, or to destroy, dig up, or disturb flower beds, lawns, bushes or trees.
  5. Guardians must try to quiet dogs that bark, howl, or whine excessively.
  6. Petopia reserves the right to excuse any dog or person, at any time.
