Dog walking

This is the perfect service for pet parents who are away from their dog for a long period of time. During each visit we provide your dog with whatever they may need - fresh water or food, a good romp in the park and some friendly company! Each dog comes back all worked out and ready for rest – at least until you get home.

Dogs that will benefit from daily walks include those who:

	experience separation anxiety
	engage in destructive behaviour
	are high energy and love to play
	enjoy the company of other dogs and humans
	needs the exercise and fresh air

We offer group walks, up to a maximum of 5 dogs at a time, which ensures that your four-legged friend gets all the attention and care that he/she deserves. Our top priority is the well being of your pets, and by keeping the groups small, we are able to provide quality play and exercise time for your dogs. Group walks typically take place between the hours of 11:00am - 3:00pm.

We also offer private walks for those dogs that prefer one-on-one attention. This will give us ample time to devote to your furry babies.

All walks include:

	plenty of exercise and play time in a open dog park or nature trail
	lots of water so your dog doesn’t get dehydrated
	yummy, low-fat treats (upon your request)

Petopia also provides many free value-added services:

	basic obedience training when necessary
	wipe down and brush after each walk
	a daily report to communicate important details about your dog’s walk
	a quick look over to ensure that your home is in proper order

Evening walks (half an hour walks between 6:00pm – 9:00pm) are also available in case you’re stuck at the office or have to go out on the town. This will give your pup a nice potty break and some fresh air.

Your dog’s walks are guaranteed regardless of sun, rain or snow. Dog walkers are trained in Pet First Aid and are fully insured and bonded. We always carry a cell phone in case of emergency, not to mention a pouch full of toys, treats, and poopie bags.

Puppy visits and socialization

We know firsthand how difficult it is to leave a puppy at home while we are at work all day. Instead of confining your babies to a crate at home for 8 - 12 hours without a break, our puppy visits offer many benefits:

	No need to worry about a bored puppy chewing your furniture or shoes at home
	Stop the separation anxiety that your puppy experiences because of loneliness
	Lots of play time and exercise to relieve all of that puppy energy

All puppy visits include:

	Potty breaks
	Fresh water and food
	Shorts walks in safe areas (upon request)
	Games and exercise
	Basic obedience training to instill good dog manners
	a daily report to communicate your puppy’s development and behaviour
	clean up of any mess or accidents that your puppy has left

Petopia is working to develop a puppy social group so that puppies of similar age can meet and enjoy play time together. We strongly believe that early socialization is extremely important for your dog’s future development. Besides, just like you, your dog deserves to have a group of friends to hang around and have fun with. Cat visits

Even though we know how independent they can be, cats and kittens still need all the care and attention they deserve. We'll visit your favorite "purr-balls", feed them, give meds, scoop and play too. We'll make sure that your feline frisky friends are made to feel comfy and cozy at home while you are away.

All cat visits include:

	30 minute visits with your feline friends
	Scoop litter, replace liners as needed
	Provide fresh food and water
	Brush and groom
	Playtime for your kitties with their favorite toys

Vacation Pet Visits

We come to you so your pet doesn't have to go to a boarding facility. Pets do much better in their own environment and are far less stressed in familiar surroundings. Petopia’s Vacation Pet Visit service customizes the care for you and your pet’s individual needs.

Generally, when you go out of town for a business trip or a vacation we'll visit your animal companion(s) two times during the day. We won't leave until your pets get our undivided loving attention and much needed playtime. You will get the peace of mind, convenience and home security provided by experience, insured, reliable and dedicated pet care professionals.

All Vacation Pet Visits include the following:

	2 sessions of 30-45 minutes spent at your home with your pet(s)
	Fresh food and water
	Petting and playtime
	Dog Walking and exercise
	Administer medications (if needed) and vitamins
	Clean feeding area and bowls
	Clean up any accidents or messes
	Make a home "security check" each visit
	Daily report to communicate how your pets and home are doing while you were away

We'll Also Help You With:

	turning lights on for security
	bringing in your mail and newspapers
	checking the home for signs of entry
	watering your plants

Home boarding is like a mini vacation for your furry friend.  Your baby will be pampered and spoiled at the home of a Petopia staff.  We pride ourselves in having a cage free environment so that your pup feels as comfortable and stress-free as possible.  They will have plenty of exercise (at least 3-4 walks daily), play time, and attention - not to mention yummy treats and tummy rubs.   We can also provide daily email reports so that you have peace of mind of knowing your fur baby is having a great time.  Because we only accept a maximum of 2-3 dogs, you can rest assured that your pup will receive lots of undivided TLC.  While they are with us, they will be treated as part of the family.

Key Safe Program

This program was developed by Petopia to give you added convenience and make your life easier. In order to provide and accommodate last-minute needs, as well as to avoid key pick-up and return charges, we recommend that you allow Petopia to store your keys at no extra charge. Keys are stored in a locked key box, with coded labels to ensure your security and anonymity. In other words, your name and address is not physically attached to the keys. Only a limited number of individuals will have access to the locked key box. Please be reminded that Petopia is fully insured and bonded.

Lock Box Option

If you are uncomfortable with the above arrangement, we have another option whereby you leave your keys in a Lock Box compartment. Before you depart from home, simply place a door key in the Lock Box key compartment provided and attach the portable lock box device to a mutually agreed upon location (door handle most common). The majority of Realtors, as well as professional home-cleaning services all use this same device. This affords you full control of your keys as they will never leave your immediate premises. Lock box rentals are $5 per month with a fully refundable $20 deposit. Alternatively, you can chose to provide us with a lock box or purchase one from us for $40.

However, if you chose not to enroll in the Key Safe or Lock Box Program, a $15 fee will be added to the total bill for each separate trip that is needed to pick-up and return a key.
